He’s doing “21 Club,” a song that nods to Lil Peep, XXXTentacion, and Juice WRLD, the pillars of emo rap who each died at 21 or younger in the late 2010s. Taken from the expanded version of In Waves, out now digitally, “F.U.” is drawn from Badu’s performance at Primavera, in 2019, where Jamie xx watched from the audience and recorded the sample on his phone.
